Nucleus have a specialist Debt Counsellor/Money Adviser to help and advise clients who have problems with debt.
With the rapid increase in the use of credit cards and active 'selling' of debt as a way to persuade people to buy things which otherwise they could not afford, our adviser is kept busy.
He works at Nucleus on Tuesdays and sees clients by appointment.

 

FAQs

Q. What is your key advice to people in financial difficulty?
A. "Prioritise" - some debts have to be paid. These are rent/mortgage, council tax, utility bills, TV licence and court fines. Other debts such as bank loans and credit cards can wait.

Q. I've lost my job and now I can't afford the payments on my bank loan. What should I do?
A. Write and tell your creditors the problem. If you have insurance - make a claim. If the bank is unreasonable, seek advice.

Q. Any other advice?
A. Shakespeare said, "Neither a lender nor a borrower be" and he was dead right!! Save, pay cash and live within your means. It's the oldest advice in the world and still the best.
